NORTH CANTON — Hoover put a serious scare into Federal League-leading Fitch, but the Vikings fell just short at Memorial Stadium.

Hoover quarterback Jason Foote completed 15-of-25 passes for 303 yards and two touchdowns — an 84-yarder to Kyle Feinberg in the first quarter and a 34-yard toss to Nate Logan in the second. Logan finished with 4 receptions for 81 yards.

Foote also added TD runs of 1 and 9 yards — the second tying the game in the third quarter for the Vikings (1-6, 1-3). Dane Stilgenbauer’s 1-yard touchdown run for Fitch proved to be the game-winner.

Fitch quarterback John Mang rushed 18 times for 184 yards and a touchdown. Mike Eliseo added 134 yards and two scores on 21 carries. The Falcons (7-0, 4-0) attempted just three passes.
