North Canton Hoover 2, Ashland 0

ASHLAND: North Canton threw two touchdown passes and head coach Don Hertler Jr. alternated starting quarterbacks through Tuesday’s high school football scrimmage with the first-team offense.

Jason Foote threw a 25-yard touchdown pass to tight end Grant Keeney and then hit wide receiver Joe Pope for a 30-yard score. Sean Kostenik, who rotated with Foote, threw the ball and ran it well, according to Hertler.

“If we had a game tomorrow, we would run plays in with the quarterbacks,” Hertler said. “Both guys are two of our better football players, and they’re both playing defense. We’re getting very good production from both of them at quarterback.”

The QBs combined to complete 15-of-17 throws.

Running back Kyle Adams impressed his head coach by running with intensity.
