Hoover @ Austintown Fitch
Canton Repository

SITE: Falcon Stadium, 7:30 p.m.

RECORDS: Hoover 5-1, 3-0; Fitch 2-4, 1-2.

LAST WEEK: Hoover 14, GlenOak 10;
Jackson 24, Fitch 7.

LAST MEETING: Fitch won 34-27 last year.

WHAT TO WATCH: Hoover might be coming of age at
the right time. Vikings head coach Don Hertler Jr. will
find out this week with a fairly tough test on the road.

Hoover’s offense is starting to find a nice balance
between QB Josh Nettleton, RB Kevin Dahl and
WR Matt Wakulchik. Dahl carried the ball 20 times for
115 yards last week, and it was a tough 115.
He runs hard, and he gets north and south in a hurry.
Wakulchik continues to make plays on both sides of
the ball.

Fitch is struggling.

The key is for Hoover to stop Fitch’s running game.
Fitch has scored a touchdown or less in all three of its losses.

Special teams could be a deciding factor, but if Hoover does not turn the ball over and turns in the same kind of defensive performance it did last week against a very different opponent, the Vikings should come out with their seventh win.

The Hoover Vikings defense held GlenOak to just 92 total yards last week. Hoover will likely carry that momentum into tomorrow's game against Austintown Fitch. Above, Hoover LB Jordan Bucar (13) hog ties the GlenOak ballcarrier.
