Canton Repository

NORTH CANTON Hoover's Matt Wakulchik returned a kickoff 90 yards for a touchdown and also kicked a 40-yard
field goal in the fourth quarter as the Vikings defeated Fitch in Federal League play.

Wakulchik kicked the game-deciding field goal with 8:54 left in the fourth quarter.

The Hoover defense then forced a three-and-out on the Falcons' following possession.

Hoover got the ball back with 7:17 in the game and held the ball for the remainder of the contest.

Kevin Dahl led Hoover in rushing with 64 yards on 19 carries. Dahl helped Hoover run out the clock in the fourth
quarter by rushing for four first downs on the Vikings' game-ending drive.

Keane Boyd scored Fitch's only touchdown on a 35-yard pass from Chris Smaldino. It was Smaldino's only pass
completion of the night, and he finished 1 of 7 passing with no interceptions.

Game Note: Another dominant performance by the Hoover defense. Credit goes to senior DE Neil Michaels (8 stops),
junior LB Kevin Dahl (9 stops) and senior LB Jordan Bucar (18 stops). Hoover held the stacked "I" of Fitch to
under three yards per carry.
