AUSTINTOWN Erick Howard had 141 yards rushing and three touchdowns on 20 carries as the Vikings remain atop the Federal League standings.

Howard had touchdown runs of 1, 2 and 11 yards.

Jared Wackerly completed a 9-yard touchdown pass to Dan Nettleton and threw a 5-yard scoring pass to Kevin Dahl for Hoover. Wackerly finished 14-of-20 for 218 yards and an interception.

Nettleton had 48 yards receiving on three catches. Matt Wakulchik was Hoover’s leading receiver with 69 yards on five catches.

Hoover is 4-1 in league play, a half-game ahead of Boardman. The Spartans travel to Fawcett Stadium tonight to play McKinley.

Fitch’s Joe Reedy had a 3-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter.
