CANTON Erick Howard rushed for 168 yards and two touchdowns, including
the game-winner in the fourth quarter, as Hoover rallied for a 13-10 win over
Twinsburg in the Division I regional semifinals. Hoover's game winning drive
covered 80 yards on 17 plays. GREAT DRIVE!
Two elementary school boys eager to spur on the Viking faithful held up home made posters with the phrases, "All aboard", "Erick the freight train Howard" That pretty much sums it up.
Hoover’s defense also came up big in the game at Fawcett Stadium. The Vikings intercepted three passes and recovered a fumble. Twinsburg's
offense averaged 36 points per game prior to tonight. Great effort by the Hoover defense holding Twinsburg to 10 points.
The Vikings (11-1) advance to the regional finals for the second straight year.
The win also set up a Federal League rematch, as GlenOak and Hoover meet in the regional finals next Saturday at a site to be determined Sunday.
Hoover beat GlenOak, 14-10, in Week 9 at North Canton Memorial Stadium.
