Hoover vs Wilson
Canton Repository
SITE: North Canton Memorial Stadium, 7:30 p.m.
RECORDS: Wilson 0-0, Hoover 1-1.
LAST WEEK: Louisville 22, Hoover 0.
LAST MEETING: First meeting.
WHAT TO WATCH: Hoover isn’t shut out very often, especially in front of the Vikings home crowd. Louisville did that last week. The Vikings needed to be able to throw the ball against the Leopards 5-3 defense but struggled with pass protection against a heavy blitz. Hoover may try to send a message that it can be physical by running the football.
A heavy dose of RB Erick Howard early in the game may be what the doctor ordered. Howard could not find running room last week. Hoover turned the ball over too many times in the air. Joe Cerreta started the last two weeks, but he plays safety as well. Junior Brett Tulodzieski could get a look at QB.
Wilson is an I-formation team that will get into some spread offense. The focus for the Vikings, head coach Don Hertler Jr. said, is getting better. “We need to bounce back this week, improve and get ready for the league like everyone else,” Hertler said. - Fridaynightohio.com
