Howard, Miley win top WHBC awards

Hoover High School running back Erick Howard was named county MVP during the 65th annual WHBC
All-Stark County football banquet Thursday.

Howard, Ohio’s reigning Mr. Football, ran for 2,056 yards and 27 touchdowns in leading the Vikings to
the playoffs for the third straight season. He finished his career with 6,013 yards rushing, 79 touchdowns
and 478 points, all county records.

A starting linebacker, Howard also led Hoover in tackles with 102 and caused four fumbles.

Marlington coach Ed Miley was named coach of the year. St. Thomas Aquinas’ Zachary Columber
received the Muzzy Award.
