WHAT TO WATCH: Boardman graduated many talented players last year,
two of which are Ohio State recruit Corey Linsley and two-time 1,100-yard rusher

Boardman returns another OSU recruit in two-way lineman J.T. Moore #50 (6-3, 230).
He made 79 tackles, seven for loss, and four sacks a year ago.
Returning at quarterback for his third season is Rob Boyd #9 (6-2, 205).
Boyd (47 for 88 - 730 yards w/ 3 TDs & 7 Ints through 5 games) leads Boardman's
spread offense. Boyd's primary target is wideout Chase Hammond #1 (6-5, 210).
Hammond leads the Spartans in receiving with 21 receptions for 455 yards and
2 Touchdowns.
The Boardman ground game features Nick Buonavolonta #18 (5-9, 170).
Buonavolonta has rushed for 265 yards on 37 carries. Quarterback Rob Boyd will
often times tuck and run in the spread offense. He has rushed for 180 yards on
47 carries with 4 touchdowns.
Boardman runs primarily a 40 defense.
Hoover senior RB Erick Howard is making a statement as to why he should be
considered for repeating as Ohio's Mr. Football. Over the past three weeks, Howard
has averaged 263 rushing yards per game with 11 touchdowns during that span.
Howard has powered the Vikings to at least 35 points in each of those games, all wins.
Look for Hoover's offensive line to set the tone early led by senior center Brian Hayes.
Accompanying Brian as the human road graders are: Jake Berkshire (OL),
Pat McCoy (OL), Mark Wiley (OL), Alex Steenrod (OL), Tyler Mann OL/FB),
AJ Sarbaugh (TE), Dan Leek (TE) and Ben Garner (FB).
QB Brett Tulodzieski provides the Vikings with some balance, having thrown for
493 yards and five TDs. His top target has been Joey Housos, who has
10 catches for 157 yards.
