A Closer look at GlenOak's Offense
GlenOak's passing offense has been suspect all year according to the Repository. Through eight games,
the GlenOak passing game has completed only 33% of their pass attempts (34 - 106) and averages only
60 passing yards per game (31 yards per game over the last 3 games).
With that being said, expect GlenOak to rely heavily on their ground game led by sophomore RB Brionte Dunn.
Through eight games, Dunn has rushed for 937 yards on 191 carries for a 4.9 yards per carry average. Dunn has
found the endzone 10 times this season.
Sharing the RB duties with Dunn are senior RB Collin Daniels-Mitchell and senior QB Brandon Martin. Both
Daniels-Mitchell and Martin average about 5 carries each per game. Daniels-Mitchell averages 5.9 ypc while
Martin averages 4.3 ypc.
This week has been referred to as "Championship Week" by the Hoover team. The GlenOak game is a must win game if the Hoover Vikings expect to capture a third consecutive Federal League title. This is the first step toward that goal. A win against Jackson in week 10 is required as well.
This group of seniors know how to close the door on the competition by posting an impressive 18 - 2 record against Federal League teams. Their motto, "Defend our backs". Referring to the previous two consecutive Federal League titles won by Hoover and retaining the title of CHAMPIONS.
