McKinley is a run oriented team relying
on the tandem of Bryce Wilder and
Elijah Farrakhan. Both have combined for
1,874 rushing yards on 286 attempts through
seven games. These stats equate to 267
rushing yards per game on 41 attempts.
Wilder is the leading ball carrier with 1,087
yards on 130 carries for a game average of
155 yards on 19 attempts.
Farrakhan has 473 rushing yards this season
on 80 carries for a game average of 68 yards.
When McKinley choses to pass, two year
starter Kyle Ohradzansky will look to throw
downfield to Angelo Powell, Alex Parton, Taron Montgomery and Matt Ogletree. These four receivers average 26 yards per catch as a group. Ohradzansky however has only completed 42.3% of his passes this season. Look for McKinley to attempt a balanced offensive attack at first, but give way to their running game as the game progresses.
Defensively, McKinley is led by junior DE Steve Miller (jersey #88) with 4 sacks through 7 games. The secondary has good team speed and the linebackers run to the ball from sideline to sideline. McKinley's run defense has given up 897 yards on 265 attempts this season for a game average of 128 yards and a 3.4 yards per carry average. McKinley's leading tackler is senior ILB Jewone Snow (jersey #46) with 21 solo tackles and 10 assists through 7 games (4.4 tackles per game average).
FYI: McKinley's HOME game average attendance this season has been 6,841. McKinley's senior punter James Forsythe has averaged 40.3 yards per punt this season on 17 punts. McKinley averages 11.8 yards per punt return.
