CANTON TWP. Being a high school football coach in Stark County
can be both a blessing and a curse.

When Repository East-West All-Star Football Game co-directors
Ron Rankin and Kevin Tobin asked Massillon head coach Jason Hall
to lead the West squad, Hall quickly found out one of the blessings.

“When I coached in the North-South game — I was on Vic (Whiting’s)
staff — kids were a little like ‘I’ll see’ about practice,” Hall told the Hall
of Fame Luncheon Club on Monday at Tozzi’s on 12th. “The kids in
Stark County, they said, ‘When’s practice? Where’s practice?’

“Kids in Stark County truly love football. They want to represent Stark
