LEXINGTON—The Vikings' defense held the Minutemen to 144 total yards and forced three turnovers,
as Hoover earned its their first win of the season.
The special teams also played a big role for the Vikings.
Up 13-0 and attempting a punt in the third quarter on 4th-and-10, Junior, Dom Iero faked it, then threw
a 39-yard TD pass to Junior, Sam Woods.
Hoover also got a 44-yard punt return for a score from Junior, Xavier Hogan in the fourth quarter.
The Vikings got on the board in the first quarter, when Austin Appleby found Brandon Race for a
21-yard TD pass.
Appleby, who was 9-of-24 for 97 yards, also had a 3-yard TD run.
Sophomore, Alex Welsh led the Vikings' rushing attack with 99 yards and a 1-yard TD run.
